Lucky Ali reflects on life after divorces with three foreign wives at 67

India’s renowned singer Lucky Ali, now 67, has had a colourful personal life, having married three women from different countries. Across these marriages, he has fathered five children, yet none of the unions endured. Today, he lives alone—but he harbours no regrets about his past relationships.

In a recent interview, Lucky opened up about his personal and marital experiences. He said, “There is no rule that your first partner has to be your last. I have married three women from three different countries. My father, too, married a woman from outside India.”

Despite the divorces, Lucky maintains amicable relationships with his ex-wives. “Even though none of my marriages lasted, my relationships have endured. We may not live together, but we are always there for each other,” he explained.

Lucky’s first marriage, in 1996, was to New Zealand model Megan Jane McCleary. After their wedding, she starred in the music video for his iconic song O Sanam. The couple had two children, Tauz and Tasmia.

Following his separation from Megan, Lucky formed a relationship with Anahita, of Iranian descent. He married her after divorcing his first wife, and they had two children together, Sara and Ryan.

In 2010, he married his third wife, former British model Kate Elizabeth Hallam, and the couple had a son, Dani Maksud Ali. This marriage also ended in divorce in 2017, and Lucky has remained unmarried since.

Despite three divorces, Lucky Ali maintains a positive outlook on life. “Every relationship teaches you something. If love is genuine, its bond is never truly broken, even if the relationship ends,” he reflected.

He remains committed to his children, saying, “I have always taken responsibility for my children. I believe they can be raised with love. Children learn from what their parents do.”

Lucky’s own family history is equally notable. His parents, Mehboob Ali and Madhu Kumari, divorced, and Mehboob later married Tracey, an American. Lucky’s mother, Madhu Kumari, was the sister of legendary actress Meena Kumari.
