KATSEYE are embarking on the most exciting phase of their career with some valuable advice from someone who has walked a similar path. In a recent interview with Complex, the rapidly rising global girl group revealed the guidance they received from Camila Cabello – a fellow artist who, like them, began her career in the demanding and fast-paced world of girl groups.
“We met Camila Cabello – she’s honestly the sweetest person and feels like a big sister to us,” the group explained. “She gave us one key piece of advice, especially since she was part of a girl group herself. She told us that communication is everything. A lot of people tell us that communication is crucial, and it’s vital to remain open and honest with one another.”
Cabello, who shot to fame as a member of Fifth Harmony before launching a successful solo career, is no stranger to the challenges and rewards of balancing personal identity within a collective. Her words come at a critical time for KATSEYE, as they navigate the pressures of success while transitioning from emerging talent to global sensation.
Their breakthrough came earlier this year with the release of Beautiful Chaos, their second EP, which has marked a defining moment in their rapidly growing discography. Released on June 27 through HYBE, UMG, and Geffen Records, the EP showcases KATSEYE’s evolving sound and newfound confidence. Its lead single “Gnarly” marked the group’s debut on the Billboard Hot 100, while the Latin-inspired track “Gabriela” became their biggest hit to date.
Fueled by infectious production and captivating choreography, “Gabriela” has gained millions of daily streams and become a crowd favourite at major festivals, including Lollapalooza last summer.
Beautiful Chaos also achieved a significant milestone by entering the Billboard 200, making it the group’s first top-ten project. As KATSEYE gear up for the launch of their inaugural headlining tour, the Beautiful Chaos Tour, they are poised for even greater success. The tour kicks off tonight.
