Acclaimed singer-songwriter and actress Katelyn Tarver has released her latest single, “So Am I,” offering a powerful new glimpse into her forthcoming album Tell Me How You Really Feel, due via Nettwerk. The track continues Tarver’s evolution as one of pop’s most emotionally articulate voices, pairing confessional lyricism with melodic clarity and restraint.
“So Am I” follows a string of well-received 2025 singles — “The Price,” “$82 at Erewhon,” “Strange Weather,” “Don’t Eat Pray Love,” and “#1” — each of which has underscored Tarver’s ability to transform deeply personal experiences into resonant, cathartic pop songs. Together, the releases signal her most honest and incisive songwriting to date, cementing her reputation for emotional precision and narrative depth.
Tell Me How You Really Feel was written and recorded alongside longtime collaborators, Grammy-nominated producer Mikey Reaves (Luke Combs, Jelly Roll) and Chad Copelin (Sasha Alex Sloan, Sufjan Stevens). The album emerged in the immediate aftermath of the end of Tarver’s ten-year marriage in 2024, becoming a real-time document of heartbreak, reflection, and renewal. Across the record, she chronicles the fragile process of self-reinvention, balancing liberation with uncertainty while gradually transforming loss into clarity.
The album represents a creative rebirth — vulnerable, hopeful, and unsparingly self-aware — as Tarver confronts emotional truth without self-protection or artifice. Inspiration arrived from unexpected sources, including stand-up comedy. Reflecting on the album’s candid tone, Tarver points to Ali Wong’s post-divorce special Single Lady as a key influence.
“There’s a parallel between comedy and turning real-life situations into art,” Tarver explains. “Watching Ali be that honest made me realise I should go all the way. I thought, if I’m ever going to make a record like this, now is the time. The title is a direct statement — tell me the truth, tell me how you feel, tell me everything.”
She adds that the album is intended not only as self-expression but as companionship. “I hope this record can sit with you if you’re trying to forge your own path. I want people to feel empowered to tell their own stories, live truthfully, and be vulnerable. That’s what connects us.”
To support the release, Tarver will embark on a North American tour this spring, performing in intimate venues across major cities.
