Family Harmony Ushers in Eid Music Release

As the festive celebrations of Eid al-Fitr approach, the Bangladeshi music scene is brimming with new releases. Among these, a particularly heartfelt project by singer-composer Zahid Nirob stands out: a deeply personal collaboration featuring members of his own family.

The track, titled “Shukriya Hasnah”, draws on the rich spiritual and musical traditions of Qawwali. Penned by lyricist Manjur Elahi, it is scheduled for release on Chand Raat—the night before Eid—across multiple digital platforms. Fans can stream it via Zahid Nirob’s official Facebook and YouTube channels, as well as the YouTube channel of Prime Bank Limited.

What sets this project apart is its profoundly personal nature. For the first time in his career, Zahid has united his father and brothers in a single musical production. Reflecting on the inspiration, he noted that music has always been central to family life. His earliest experiences were informal home performances: his father on the harmonium while he sang—moments that formed the bedrock of his musical journey.

This familial synergy is reflected throughout “Shukriya Hasnah”. Elder brother Zubaed Al Naim provides tabla rhythms, younger brother Hasibul Nibir plays guitar, and Mehedi Hasan Tamjid contributes the haunting tones of the rabab. Their father’s harmonium anchors the arrangement, creating a warm, layered sound that intertwines tradition with modern musical sensibilities.

Interestingly, the song traces its origins to a jingle composed for Prime Bank Limited. The lyrical depth and thematic resonance prompted Zahid to seek permission to develop it into a full song. He explains: “The lyrics remind us of the many blessings we often take for granted and the importance of expressing gratitude—a sentiment central to this song.”

The accompanying music video, directed by long-time collaborator Kawsar Islam Pranto and his team, plays a crucial role in conveying the song’s emotion. It highlights both the performance and the familial bond that underpins the project, presenting a visually rich narrative that complements the musical experience.

Beyond this release, Zahid Nirob remains a prolific presence across the entertainment industry. His compositions feature in advertisements, television dramas, and films.
