Popular Singer Pabel Begins New Married Life

Rising Bangladeshi singer Jahed Parvez Pabel, who shot to fame four years ago with a refreshed rendition of the evergreen song Buk Chinchin, has entered a new chapter of his life. The young vocalist, whose voice became instantly recognisable after the song went viral on digital platforms, completed his wedding ceremonies on Friday in the port city of Chattogram, surrounded by close family members and well-wishers.

Pabel’s wedding celebrations were held at a convention centre in Chattogram’s Bandar area, where the post-wedding reception took place in a warm and intimate setting. His bride, Tanjima Islam, is a student at a private college in Chattogram. The couple’s union was arranged through family discussions, reflecting traditional values blended with mutual understanding.

Speaking to the media about his marriage, Pabel shared that the decision was taken jointly by both families after months of conversation. “There had been some pressure from my family for quite a while,” he explained. “At a certain point, everything came together through their choice. Tanjima is also someone I liked. After talking to her, I felt she would be the right life partner for the journey ahead. I am truly happy to have found such a companion through my family’s decision.”

The singer added that their nikah ceremony was completed earlier on Friday in the presence of close relatives from both families. Later that evening, the formal wedding reception was hosted at the convention centre, marking the beginning of their married life.

Despite the personal milestone, Pabel remains deeply immersed in his musical career. He revealed that several new songs recorded in his voice are already complete and will be released gradually at suitable times. In addition, he is set to lend his vocals to a number of upcoming television dramas, further expanding his presence in the entertainment industry.

Interestingly, Pabel does not come from a musical family. His passion for singing began during his school years, particularly while studying in Class Ten, when listening to songs by renowned singer Habib Wahid inspired him to dream of becoming a vocalist. While his friends spent their leisure time socialising or playing sports, Pabel devoted himself to practising music. Around fourteen years ago, he moved to Dhaka with the aim of becoming a professional singer.

After completing his graduation from a private university, Pabel has spent the past four years fully dedicated to music. Throughout this journey, his greatest sources of encouragement have been his mother and elder brother, whose support played a crucial role in shaping his career.

It is worth noting that Buk Chinchin was originally sung by legendary artist Andrew Kishore and Dolly Sayontoni in Badieul Alam’s film Bastob, with lyrics penned by Kabir Bakul. The song was later reintroduced in director Mahidul Mahim’s television drama Shilpi, where Pabel’s male and female vocal rendition brought the track back into the spotlight. The drama starred Afran Nisho and Mehazabien Chowdhury in lead roles, further amplifying the song’s renewed popularity.
