Belinda Carlisle, iconic ’80s singer and former lead vocalist of the Go-Go’s, continues to embrace life with style and grace at 67. The beloved star, best known for hits like “We Got the Beat” and “Vacation” with the Go-Go’s, and solo classics such as “Heaven Is a Place on Earth” and “Mad About You”, remains as vibrant as ever as she travels the world and stays connected with her fans.
Carlisle’s recent travels have been a source of inspiration for many of her followers, especially after she shared a stunning photo from her trip to Turkey. In the picture, the singer exudes confidence, sporting a stylish sunhat and a relaxed chambray shirt while capturing the moment with a beaming smile. She marked her 67th birthday with a heartfelt selfie, expressing gratitude for her life and the beauty of the present moment:
“Another trip around the ☀️….. grateful to be here when so many of my friends and loved ones aren’t. So the word of today is GRATITUDE 🙏🏼🙏🏼🩵🩵🙏🏼🙏🏼 Happy Sunday!!”
A Journey of Sobriety and Self-Discovery
While Carlisle’s professional career continues to thrive, she also shared a deeply personal reflection on her path to sobriety. In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, she spoke candidly about her struggles with alcohol and drugs, acknowledging how these issues impacted her life and career.
“I thought, I’ll just drink wine, and I won’t do coke,” she admitted, recalling a particularly low point in her career when she was performing in a small club in Northampton. “There were 12 people in the audience, and my dressing room was a closet for cleaning materials, mops and brooms. I thought, wow. I was able to turn things around, but I wouldn’t have been able to if I had been behaving in the way I was before I got sober.”
Now, years into her sobriety, Carlisle’s life has taken on a new rhythm. She practices chanting every morning, which she describes as a scientific practice rather than a spiritual one. “I get up at 3:30 am. Then I chant for 40 minutes. I love chanting. It’s not airy-fairy; it’s scientific,” she shared, reflecting on the peace it brings her each day.
A Glowing Future Ahead
Belinda Carlisle’s journey, both personal and professional, shows no signs of slowing down. In August, she released her latest album, Once Upon a Time in California, and continues to tour, proving that her passion for music—and life—remains as strong as ever. Her social media accounts, especially Instagram, offer a glimpse into her travels and a life well-lived, reminding her fans that it’s never too late to embrace change, find peace, and live with gratitude.
