Atif Aslam’s Concert to Be Cancelled, Organisers Confirm Those are Rumours

Rumours had recently emerged that Atif Aslam’s concert, scheduled for 13 December at the Bashundhara field, might be cancelled. This followed the news that another Pakistani artist, Ali Azmat’s concert had been called off due to security concerns. The organisers of Atif Aslam’s event were accused of not yet having contacted the venue authorities, prompting fears that the concert could face the same fate. However, organisers from the event management company, Main Stage, confirmed yesterday that the concert would proceed as planned.

In an official statement, Main Stage reassured the public: “We are working closely with all relevant government departments and authorities to ensure that the event is held in full compliance with regulations and security protocols. We are confident that the authorities will extend their full support to this positive initiative for the youth.”

While organisers have confirmed the event will go ahead, they have yet to disclose the exact venue. They did, however, reveal that the concert will be held in an outdoor arena within the Bashundhara area, spanning between the 100 and 300-foot sections. The organisers also stated, “All necessary preparations and formalities concerning the venue have been completed, and we are prioritising the safety of both the audience and the performers.”

Main Stage expressed confidence that, with the cooperation of the relevant authorities, the concert will be held successfully and safely.

Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales for this concert will go towards supporting the families of those involved in the July Movement, through the Private University Students’ Alliance of Bangladesh. Tickets are currently available for sale on the Chaloghuri.com online platform.

Apart from this concert, Atif Aslam is also scheduled to perform at a charity event titled ‘Echoes of Revolution 2.0’. All proceeds from this concert will be donated to the July Martyrs’ Memorial Foundation. This charity concert is set to take place between 12-20 December.
