Ally Evenson Drops Intense New Single Ahead of ‘Speed Kills’ Album

Rising alternative-pop star Ally Evenson is set to take her career to new heights with the release of her highly anticipated second album Speed Kills, scheduled to drop on February 20, 2026, through Assemble Sound and Atlantic Records.

To get fans excited, Ally has unveiled a brand new single and music video for the track “Strawberry.” The song marks a bold step forward in her evolving sound, with her haunting vocals layered over a distorted beat and shimmering guitar riffs. In the track, Ally reflects on a fractured romance, singing, “I miss when you loved me” and confessing, “Tell me I’m sweeter than candy, but I fucked it up and you let me.” The song’s poignant lyrics capture the vulnerability of longing and loss.

The accompanying music video, inspired by Argentine photographer Diego Goldberg’s It Takes Two, adds another emotional dimension to the track. In it, Ally is seen strapped to a chair with a bag over her head, while a love triangle plays out in the background, symbolising the confusion and emotional aftermath of a relationship gone wrong.

“‘Strawberry’ is about my first gay relationship,” Ally explains. “I ruined it because I was scared of being gay. The song reflects that feeling of regret and helplessness.”

With Speed Kills, Ally invites listeners into a raw, introspective journey through heartbreak, self-discovery, and empowerment. Featuring 14 tracks, the album delves into themes of anxiety, sadness, and personal growth, all set to a backdrop of nineties-inspired alternative pop. Co-produced with her long-time collaborator nydge, Ally takes full creative control of this project, offering a deeply personal reflection of her life.

“I’m putting myself out there completely on Speed Kills. These songs are all about me,” Ally says. “It’s a study of who I am.”

She teased the album with the charged single “Phetamines” and the playful “The Line,” and with Speed Kills on the horizon, fans can expect more raw, honest music from this rising talent.
