A new K-pop chapter begins: Min Hee-jin’s secret audition draws wide attention

Min Hee-jin, founder of OK Records and former CEO of ADOR, is preparing to hold a special closed audition this Sunday at a dance academy in Seoul. Her return to the K-pop scene has generated significant interest, and industry observers believe that this audition could signal the beginning of her next major creative venture—possibly the formation of a new idol group.

According to the Korea Herald, OK Records was founded last October and promptly completed corporate registration. Its scope of operations includes discovering new artists, training, album production, digital distribution, concert planning, event management, and brand development—signifying a fully structured entertainment enterprise.

The affiliated dance studio announced on social media that the online audition is open to individuals born between 2006 and 2011. There are no restrictions regarding gender or nationality, reinforcing speculation that Min Hee-jin intends to assemble a globally diverse pool of performers for upcoming projects. The deadline for application submissions is Thursday at 10 PM.

Min, once widely referred to as the “guardian of NewJeans” due to her close relationship with the members, publicly voiced her support on 12 November when the group expressed their wish to return to ADOR. However, ADOR has yet to complete its individual meetings with Minji, Hanni, and Danielle. Analysts believe this indicates that Min and NewJeans are now progressing along separate paths.

Last November, NewJeans terminated their contract with ADOR, while Min was removed from her CEO position in August amid conflicts with HYBE. After more than ten months of legal proceedings, the Seoul Central District Court ruled in October that the contract between ADOR and NewJeans was valid, allowing the group to resume its operations under ADOR’s management.
