India’s live music scene is preparing for two major concert tours as celebrated singers Arijit Singh and Diljit Dosanjh gear up to return to the stage. While both artists are expected to draw enormous crowds, the contrasting prices of their premium concert offerings have attracted particular attention.
A luxury hospitality package for Arijit Singh’s upcoming Mumbai concert is priced at an extraordinary Rs 11.8 lakh, while the most expensive individual ticket for Diljit Dosanjh’s AURA tour costs Rs 17,999. The difference has sparked discussion about the growing market for exclusive live music experiences in India.
According to a report published by The Indian Express on 21 October, Arijit Singh will embark on a nine-city concert tour across India in 2027. It will be his first major nationwide tour since announcing in January 2026 that he would step away from recording new songs for films.
The tour will also mark two decades of his musical career, adding significance to what is expected to be one of the country’s major live entertainment events of the year.
Arijit’s official ticketing partner, ThumpN, has announced that general admission tickets will begin at Rs 999. However, the most expensive offering is a luxury package costing Rs 11.8 lakh for his performance at Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai on 20 February 2027.
The exclusive package accommodates 15 guests and includes several premium facilities intended to provide a more personalised concert experience.
Those purchasing the package will receive comfortable seating close to the stage, exclusive gifts, separate entry and exit arrangements, and access to dedicated washroom facilities. A special arrangement will also allow guests to have their experiences professionally recorded, with videos prepared for sharing on social media.
The offering is designed for audiences seeking more than an ordinary concert ticket, combining live music with additional hospitality services and exclusive amenities.
Similar premium arrangements are being offered at Arijit’s concerts in other cities, where the highest-priced packages generally range between Rs 7 lakh and Rs 10 lakh.
Despite the substantial costs, demand appears to be strong.
Citing Billboard India, the report stated that approximately 60 per cent of tickets in the most expensive categories had already been sold, indicating considerable interest among audiences willing to pay for exclusive concert experiences.
This is not the first time Arijit’s performances have featured exceptionally expensive hospitality packages.
Around three years ago, a premium lounge package accommodating 40 people at his Pune concert reportedly sold for Rs 16 lakh. The earlier arrangement demonstrated that a market for high-priced group hospitality packages already existed around his live performances.
Arijit’s 2027 tour will begin on 9 January at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He will then perform in Chandigarh on 23 January, Jaipur on 7 February and Mumbai on 20 February.
The tour will continue with concerts in Bengaluru on 13 March, New Delhi on 27 March, Pune on 10 April and Indore on 1 May. The final scheduled performance will take place in Hyderabad on 15 May.
Organisers expect approximately 500,000 spectators to attend the nine-city tour.
The planned performances are particularly significant given Arijit’s decision to withdraw from recording new songs for films. His return to major live concerts will provide fans with an opportunity to experience his music on stage as he celebrates his 20-year musical journey.
Meanwhile, Punjabi music star Diljit Dosanjh is preparing to return to India as part of his international AURA concert tour.
His upcoming performances will also offer tickets starting at Rs 999, making the entry-level pricing identical to that of Arijit’s concerts. The most expensive individual ticket, however, has been set at Rs 17,999 for a premium lounge category at his Mumbai show.
Diljit’s Indian tour is scheduled to begin on 21 November 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
He will perform in Mumbai on 27 November, followed by Bengaluru on 29 November and Lucknow on 5 December. Chandigarh will host the fifth concert of the Indian leg, although its date has yet to be officially confirmed.
The singer previously enjoyed considerable commercial success with the Indian leg of his 2024 Dil-Luminati tour, which attracted substantial attention from music enthusiasts.
That success has raised expectations for his forthcoming AURA performances, with fans looking forward to another series of live shows.
However, the headline prices of Arijit’s and Diljit’s concert offerings require careful comparison.
Arijit’s Rs 11.8 lakh package is not an individual admission ticket. It is a group hospitality arrangement accommodating 15 people. If divided equally, the cost would amount to approximately Rs 78,667 per person.
By contrast, Diljit’s Rs 17,999 price applies to a single ticket in a premium category.
The two offerings therefore represent different arrangements, and comparing their total prices without accounting for the number of guests would give a misleading impression of the actual cost.
Both artists are also providing lower-priced tickets, starting at Rs 999, allowing fans to attend their performances without purchasing exclusive hospitality packages.
The pricing structures reflect the changing nature of India’s live entertainment market, where concerts increasingly serve audiences with different budgets and expectations.
Some music enthusiasts prefer standard admission, while others are prepared to spend considerably more for comfortable seating, private facilities and additional services.
The strong reported demand for Arijit’s luxury packages suggests that exclusive group experiences have become an important part of major concert arrangements.
At the same time, Diljit’s comparatively lower premium ticket price illustrates how artists and organisers can adopt different approaches to pricing their live performances.
With Arijit preparing for a nine-city celebration of his musical career and Diljit returning with another major international tour, India’s concert calendar is set for a busy period.
Beyond the excitement surrounding their performances, the two tours also reveal how the country’s live music industry is developing separate markets for accessible tickets and premium entertainment experiences.
