After a prolonged hiatus, two of Bangladesh’s most celebrated voices, Imran Mahmudul and Nancy, have come together once again for a new duet, generating renewed excitement across the music industry. Their latest collaboration, titled “Dujon Mile Bachbo Ek Jibon”, has been recorded for the upcoming film Shikar.
The song, penned by noted lyricist Kabir Bakul, carries a romantic and emotional tone that reflects the central mood of the film. Imran himself has composed and arranged the music, adding his signature melodic style to the track. Recording for the duet was completed on Sunday evening, marking a much-anticipated reunion for the pair who previously earned widespread appreciation for their on-screen musical chemistry.
Even before its official release, the song has sparked considerable curiosity among listeners. Many fans regard the return of Imran and Nancy as a significant moment in contemporary Bangladeshi playback music, particularly given the rarity of their collaborations in recent years. Their earlier works together had established a distinct musical identity, blending soft romantic expression with strong vocal contrast.
Following the recording session, both artists expressed satisfaction with the final outcome. Nancy described working with Imran as consistently comfortable and creatively fulfilling. She noted that the composition and lyrics have been crafted in a way that could resonate deeply with audiences, especially within the cinematic context. She also expressed joy at returning to film music after a notable gap.
Imran Mahmudul, in turn, praised Nancy’s vocal strength, calling her one of the most impactful singers in the country. He added that collaborating with her always brings a different level of artistic preparation and emotional depth. According to him, the project had been in anticipation for some time, and both were eager to bring it to life.
The film Shikar, directed by Kamaruzzaman Roman, is reportedly inspired by real-life incidents from border regions and is being developed as a thriller. The narrative focuses strongly on its storyline, aiming to present a grounded and intense cinematic experience. The screenplay is based on a story by Abdullah Zahir Babu, while cinematography is handled by Saiful Shahin. Production is being managed by Reza Films.
The cast features popular actress Opus Bishwas alongside actor Murtaza Palash, with several other performers also involved. The production team plans to travel to Nepal this week for an intensive shooting schedule across various scenic locations, where key portions of the film will be completed.
With both the musical reunion of Imran and Nancy and the progressing production of Shikar, anticipation is steadily building across the entertainment sector. Audiences are now looking forward to both the film and its soundtrack, expecting a blend of strong storytelling and memorable musical composition.
