Celebrated Bangladeshi musician , who has been permanently settled in the United States with his wife and daughter, made an unexpected return to Bangladesh on the night of 2 April. He is currently residing at his family home in Aftabnagar, Dhaka, keeping the visit private from the wider public.
Protik has returned primarily to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha with his close family and relatives. In addition to the festive gatherings, he plans to complete and release three new songs for the occasion before returning to the United States.
Speaking about his sudden visit, Protik said he had deliberately kept it a secret, informing only his mother and younger brother, fellow musician . “The pull of home and family brought me back,” he remarked. “I wanted to spend Eid with loved ones and also work on three new songs. All three songs’ lyrics are written by me and Pritam, while I have composed and arranged the music myself. We have also prepared preliminary plans for the music videos, and production will begin shortly.”
When asked about the musical style of the upcoming tracks, Protik explained, “It has been some time since I produced melody-based songs. This time, I am focusing on that. One is a sad romantic song, another is purely romantic, and the third is trendy, reflecting current musical trends.”
During his stay, Protik has spent time reconnecting with colleagues and friends, including , , and . “Meeting friends and enjoying their company has been wonderful,” he said. “I miss these interactions when living abroad. This warmth and camaraderie cannot be compared to anything else.”
Protik is scheduled to perform at several concerts during his visit. A notable upcoming performance will take place on 18 April in Rangpur, where he will share the stage with his younger brother, Pritam Hasan.
