The controversial Bangladeshi singer, Mainul Ahsan Noble, has once again found himself behind bars. On Thursday, 2 April 2026, a Dhaka court revoked his bail and ordered his immediate detention after he failed to uphold the conditions of a settlement agreement in a high-profile fraud and embezzlement case. The decision was handed down by Metropolitan Magistrate Raju Ahmed following a hearing at the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court.

Background of the Allegations
The legal proceedings stem from a case filed by a woman identified as Ananniya Shabnam Rose. According to official court documents, Noble allegedly cultivated a romantic relationship with Rose, promising her marriage to gain her trust. Under these pretences, he reportedly solicited and received significant sums of money.
The financial exploitation took place over nearly two years, specifically between 25 August 2023 and June 2025. During this period, Noble is alleged to have misappropriated a total of £8,250 (approximately BDT 1,318,540). When the victim demanded her money back, the singer reportedly refused, leading to the formal filing of a lawsuit on 13 August 2025.
Investigation and Subsequent Arrest
Upon receiving the complaint, the court instructed the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to conduct a thorough inquiry. The PBI’s subsequent report substantiated the claims, finding credible evidence of financial misconduct. Based on these findings, arrest warrants were issued on 3 February 2026 for Noble and four others, including his mother and wife.
Noble was eventually apprehended by law enforcement on 23 February in the Siddhirganj area of Narayanganj. Shortly thereafter, on 24 February, the court granted him temporary bail on the strict condition that he reach a formal settlement and repay the victim.

A Pattern of Controversy
This is far from the first time the singer has faced serious legal jeopardy. Noble’s career, while initially promising following his success on a television talent show, has been overshadowed by a series of scandals and criminal allegations.
In May 2025, he was arrested in connection with a case filed at Demra Police Station involving allegations of rape and physical assault. In a bizarre turn of events, Noble secured his release from that particular incarceration only after marrying the complainant while still in prison—a union that reportedly took place just five days before his bail was granted.
The Court’s Decision
During Thursday’s scheduled hearing, it was revealed that Noble had made no meaningful effort to honour the compromise agreement that served as the foundation for his temporary freedom. Consequently, the prosecution moved to cancel his bail, citing a blatant disregard for judicial directives. The magistrate agreed, noting that the defendant had exhausted the court’s leniency. Noble was escorted from the courtroom directly to jail, marking another dark chapter in his increasingly turbulent public life.
