After a prolonged hiatus, the acclaimed Bangladeshi rock ensemble Band Six has made a striking return to the national music scene, unveiling their latest musical film and single, ‘Bhalobashi’. Released on Friday evening, the song is now available across all major international streaming platforms, including YouTube and Spotify, forming part of the band’s eagerly anticipated second album.

The composition and lyrics of ‘Bhalobashi’ were crafted by the band’s drummer, Arif Shishir, drawing heavily from his personal experiences of love and heartbreak. Reflecting on the band’s journey, bassist Rakibul Romance revealed that the group’s activities had been suspended in December 2015, halting progress on their sophomore album. However, in 2025, the members reconvened, signalling a creative resurgence. Guitarist and producer Rejwan Ashraf, currently based abroad, has also been instrumental in shaping the band’s new musical direction.

The accompanying musical film, directed by Shaurin, visualises the song’s emotional narrative, blending cinematic storytelling with Band Six’s signature rock sensibilities. This release follows the debut single from their second album, ‘Ei To Shomoy 2’, positioning ‘Bhalobashi’ as the album’s second offering to fans.

Founded in 2008, Band Six first gained widespread attention after winning the reality show ‘Nescafé Get Set Rock’, establishing themselves as a cornerstone of Bangladesh’s rock music scene. Over the years, they have cultivated a loyal fanbase while influencing a new generation of young musicians.
