South Korean singer Mo Su-jin, a rising star of the acoustic collaboration band, has tragically passed away at the age of 27. She died on 24 January, leaving fans and fellow musicians in deep mourning.
Her agency, Panic Button, confirmed that her funeral took place yesterday, Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province. In an official statement, the agency said, “We wish for the peace of her soul. In accordance with the wishes of her bereaved family, the funeral was conducted privately, with only immediate family members, relatives, and close friends in attendance.”
Bandmate Kim Seung-jae, reflecting on Mo Su-jin’s passing, expressed profound grief on social media. He wrote, “We first met in 2019. From then until 2026, we would see each other at least once a week, sometimes even seven days in a row. She was my closest companion.”
Recalling their shared experiences, he added, “She taught me the meaning of happiness and gave me strength to keep going. Every time I remember her words, I realise she was not just a friend to share time and mischief with. Every moment spent together was full of joy.”
Mo Su-jin joined Acoustic Collabo in 2020 and contributed to the band’s third full-length album. Beyond her work with the band, she also pursued a solo career, releasing the single Your Universe in June 2025, which garnered attention among contemporary music enthusiasts.
