Taylor Swift’s ‘The Fate Of Ophelia’ has maintained its position at Number One on the UK Official Singles Chart for a seventh week, setting a new record for her longest-running chart-topper. The song is the lead single from her latest album, The Life Of A Showgirl, released on 3 October. It first reached Number One on 16 October, initially spending three weeks at the top before being temporarily replaced by ‘Golden’ from Netflix’s fictional K-pop group Huntr/x for two weeks, after which Swift reclaimed the top spot.
The single also achieved the highest first-week sales of 2025, selling 132,000 units. Previously, her longest-running Number One had been 2022’s ‘Anti-Hero’, which stayed six weeks at the top.
Swift has reached Number One in the UK with five different tracks. Her first was 2017’s ‘Look What You Made Me Do’, followed by ‘Anti-Hero’, ‘Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version)’, ‘Fortnight’, and most recently ‘The Fate Of Ophelia’.
Meanwhile, the album The Life Of A Showgirl became her 14th Number One in the UK, spending four weeks at the top. This makes Swift the international artist with the most Number One albums, only surpassed by The Beatles and Robbie Williams with 15 albums each.
Recently, Swift shared the official trailer for her new concert film, The Eras Tour: The Final Show, which captures her final ‘Eras Tour’ performance at BC Place stadium in Vancouver, Canada.
