Asaka Releases Christmas☆Parade Digitally Ahead of Upcoming Cover Album

Japanese singer Asaka continues her tenth-anniversary celebration through a special three-month digital single release project. The initiative began in October with the launch of her first track, Hakanai Rensa (Fragile Chain). The second release, Christmas☆Parade, was made available digitally on 5 November, receiving an enthusiastic response from listeners. The song’s music video also premiered on her official YouTube channel, where it quickly gained traction.

Asaka stated that she designed this project to make her tenth anniversary truly memorable. She emphasised that the releases highlight both her artistic progress and the diversity of her musical style, making the project appealing to new and long-time fans alike.

Another key highlight of her anniversary year is the upcoming release of her first cover album, Sing That SONG!!, scheduled to debut in Japan on 28 January 2026. The seven-track album features reimagined versions of iconic Japanese pop songs from the 1970s and 1980s. It also includes Lion, the third opening theme of the TV anime Macross Frontier, originally performed by May’n and Megumi Nakajima. Asaka has infused each track with her distinctive vocal style, creating a refreshing interpretation intended to draw both nostalgia and admiration.

Asaka began her musical career in April 2016 and made her professional debut in October the same year while still in her second year of high school. She swiftly became known for her contributions to anime and video game theme songs. Her discography now includes 16 CD singles, three full original albums and one mini-album. She remains especially popular for her theme songs for the Laid-Back Camp anime series.
