Country music star Colt Ford has shared the incredible details of his near-death experience, recalling that he saw Toby Keith when he flatlined after suffering a heart attack last year.
Ford’s medical history has been well documented, with the musician suffering two separate incidents of clinical death in 2024, following a heart attack after a performance. He recounted the experience in a 2024 interview with “Big D & Bubba,” where he revealed he had just returned to his tour bus and sent a text to his fiancée when the heart attack began.
In a recent conversation with Taste of Country, Ford opened up about the extraordinary encounter he had while flatlining.
“There was a bell, a bright light, and Toby stepped out and said, ‘They’re not ready for you yet, Little Dog, go on back down there,’” Ford recalled. “That’s how I woke up. I literally just opened my eyes. I didn’t know what had happened or that anything had transpired.”
Ford has since described how, in 2024, he died “multiple times” during the ordeal.
“I had just walked off the stage with Brantley,” Ford explained. “It was the first time I’d really done anything substantial since the heart attack. Forgive me if I get emotional, but it was unbelievable. People were crying and standing up. The fans—you all just brought the life back into me. I’m so grateful to Brantley and his crew for bringing me out here. He’s my brother, and they made me feel so incredible and safe, though I was scared.”
Ford continued, expressing his gratitude: “I’m still a little nervous, but y’all made me feel so good. It was unbelievable. I’m so thankful for all the love and comments. I really feel like I can do this again, and I’m going to. Love y’all so much.”
