MusicConnects is delighted to present its renowned multi-genre series once again this winter at the iconic Mick Lally Theatre. This popular series is co-curated by MusicConnects and The Black Gate.
On Saturday, 22 November at 3 pm, audiences will be treated to a carefully curated selection of musical offerings. From the heart of Connemara, brother and sister duo Séamus and Caoimhe Uí Fhlatharta will take to the stage, bringing their unique style of arrangements within the sean nós tradition. Cellist Kate Ellis will visit Galway, inviting listeners on a musical journey that stretches the boundaries of both new and traditional music. Meanwhile, Galway producer and songwriter Eoin Dolan will deliver his distinctive vintage psychedelic pop sound.
3 Kinds of Music is a free, family-friendly event, with donations encouraged. While booking is not required, early arrival is advised to avoid disappointment. The series will continue on 20 December with a fresh lineup, bringing festive music to get you into the Christmas spirit.
After 3 Kinds of Music, MusicConnects will offer musicians and singers the chance to be inspired by Séamus and Caoimhe through a sean nós workshop. The session will begin at 5 pm in The Mick Lally Theatre and will last 90 minutes. All levels are welcome, though space is limited.
Admission to the workshop with Séamus and Caoimhe is by donation (suggested amount: €10). Booking is available via Eventbrite.ie.
MusicConnects is supported by the Arts Council, University of Galway (education partner), Galway City Council, and Galway County Council. For further details, visit musicconnects.ie.
