Grian Chatten Covers Massive Attack for Peaky Blinders

Grian Chatten, the frontman of Irish post-punk band Fontaines D.C., has lent his voice to a cover of Massive Attack’s iconic track “Angel” for the upcoming film adaptation of the hit television series Peaky Blinders. The song forms part of the motion picture soundtrack for “Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man”, which is scheduled for cinematic release on 3 March, followed by streaming on Netflix from 20 March. The soundtrack will be simultaneously released via Milan Records on 20 March.

This rendition of “Angel” is one of two Massive Attack covers featured on the soundtrack. The other, “Teardrop”, is performed by Irish singer Girl In The Year Above. In addition, the compilation includes:

  • A new original track by Amy Taylor

  • A fresh recording of Nick Cave’s “Red Right Hand”

  • “Hunting The Wren”, a collaboration between Chatten and Lankum

Ahead of the full release, Chatten co-wrote and released the lead single “Puppet” with Peaky Blinders composers Antony Genn and Martin Slattery.
