From Classical to Hip-Hop, Dancing Chicken at Sing60

On the first day of the Sing60 Festival, audiences enjoyed a unique mix of musical styles. Local artists performed light pop, post-hardcore, hip-hop, and ambient music across two stages at Fort Canning Park.

R&B singers Imran Ajmain and Lullaboy showcased impressive vocal runs, while Shye performed shoegaze-infused pop with distinct Gen Z appeal. Post-hardcore bands Caracal and A Vacant Affair created mosh-pits among fans.

One of the festival’s most unusual and amusing sights was a person in a black chicken costume enjoying the performances. It was later revealed to be Barci, Nando’s mascot, present at the Festival Village selling peri-peri chicken. Barci danced, took photos, and interacted playfully with attendees.

Additionally, singer Benjamin Kheng performed his 2024 National Day Parade theme Not Alone alongside other artists. Collaborations among local musicians, joint performances, and intergenerational connections enlivened the festival atmosphere.
